What is Versus Welcome Week?

Versus Welcome Week is Washington DC's back to school week of parties and events, running August 20 through September 13, 2026. It is thrown by Versus, the DC hospitality group that owns and operates Heist, Ciel Social Club, and Casta's Rum Bar, so every event happens in a room the team actually runs.

When and where are the events?

Weekly residencies run Thursday through Saturday: Heist Thursdays and House of Heist at Heist (1802 Jefferson Pl NW, Dupont), Skyline Sessions and Ciel After Dark on the rooftop at Ciel Capitol Hill (175 L St NE). Specials include the Back to School Double Header at Casta's Rum Bar and Heist on August 27, the White Party at Ciel Capitol Hill on August 29, Perreito & Mimosas brunch at Casta's on August 29, Summer Never Ends at Royal Sands Social Club in Navy Yard on September 7, and the Palm & Pony Rodeo Takeover at Desert 5 Spot starting September 13. How old do I have to be?

Most nights are 21 and up with valid ID. Some daytime events differ, and every listing shows its age requirement, so check the event page before you pull up.

Which schools is Welcome Week for?

The core crowd comes from George Washington University (GW), American University (AU), and Georgetown, and students from every DC area school are welcome: Howard, Catholic, George Mason, Marymount, and beyond. If your campus is in the DMV, this is your week.

How do I get tickets?

Every event links straight to its official ticket page on Posh or Eventbrite from our events page. First release is always the cheapest, and the list hears about every drop before the public.

Can my org, chapter, or company book something?

Yes. We host org takeovers, mixers, birthdays, and private nights across all four rooms, all semester. Tell us the occasion and headcount on the contact page and the team comes back with a plan.

How do I join the street team?

The Versus street team is open to DC area college students 18 and up. Members get free entry, presales, and first looks in exchange for repping events on campus. It takes two minutes to apply, and the fall cohort is selected in early September.
